Racha Mourtada discusses Arab Social Media Report series on Radio Sawa

Racha Mourtada was interviewed on Washington-based Radio Sawa about the Arab Social Media Report series, highlighting the growth of social media use in the Arab region throughout the past two years, its impact on political and civic movements, and its popularity among Arab youth.

The interview also explored the role social media plays in empowering women across the Arab world, especially given their heightened participation in social and political movements over the past year. Racha touched on the findings of the 3rd Arab Social Media Report – now available in Arabic – including the results of a regional survey highlighting positive perceptions about the potential for social media to empower Arab women, whether socially, politically, or economically.
