Mr. Hamid carries 16 years of experience in academic libraries. He has published in several international journals including the Journal of Documentation (JDOC) and Knowledge Organization (KO). He was a distinguished participant in the International Visitors Program of the United States Information Agency, Washington, D.C. where he was introduced to various technologies shaping the future of the Internet. Apart from his doctoral research at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, he attended a short course on Electronic Document Management Systems at the School of Information Studies, University of Toronto.
Prior to joining the Dubai School of Government, Mr. Hamid worked at LUMS and as the Head of Library at University of Dubai and served the University for more than six years. He also served as an academic advisor to undergraduate students and supervised faculty and student evaluation providing input data to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. Mr. Hamid holds a MLS from Punjab, MLIS from IIU Malaysia, and a number of other certifications. His research interests include knowledge organization and human resource management.
