Project Manager (Knowledge Forums)
The Dubai School of Government (DSG), a research and teaching institution focusing on public policy in the Arab world, is working with public institutions at the local and national levels to establish a series of roundtable discussions and lectures. The objectives of these forums is to facilitate institutional dialogue and knowledge exchange among public bodies as well as engage regional and international expertise in issues affecting Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. The Project Manager (Knowledge Forums) will be entrusted with development and project management of these initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: content creation; liaison with client organizations, DSG and speakers; logistical coordination to arrange airfare and accommodation for speakers, translation, recording and transcription of events; produce pre-event briefing papers and post-event summaries (with freelance writers as required); discussion facilitation and guidance; and, budget planning and record keeping.
Required Education, Experience and Skills: At least five years of experience in public relations or event planning and a postgraduate degree in a related academic discipline are required. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of issues related to public policy and governance in the Arab world, as well as of the geopolitics of the Arabian Gulf. Ideally, the candidate will have familiarity with institutions and individuals within the local public sector. A high level of organizational and planning skills are required, as are excellent written and oral communication skills and a strong eye for detail. The successful candidate must be bilingual in Arabic and English.
