BPEP Goals

The purpose of the annual BPEP conference is to help improve the policy climate for entrepreneurship in the Arab world. It seeks to identify the best practices in entrepreneurship policy that can be replicated by countries in the region, to identify those laws and regulations that are in need of reform, and to identify needed new laws and practices, in order to promote the launch and high-growth success of new ventures by average citizens.

Participants will be asked to identify the five policies that they see as most helpful and the five specific laws or regulations that they see as most in need of reform, implementation, or repeal, for the country that they know best. These suggestions and other studies will be compiled through the use of a public online wiki, with an article for each country's entrepreneurship policies.

Once identified, BPEP will work to spread the best practices and advocate for reforms. An "Action Agenda" will be developed each year, naming the top priority for reform across the region, and a top priority that is specific to each country. The priorities will take into account the impact this reform might have, as well as the realities of achieving it. These recommendations will be presented in a communiqué issued by the conference, based on a consensus of participants, to be publicized by participants' organizations. BPEP participants will then work to bring together coalitions to achieve these goals.
