Asma Mohamed is Research Associate in the Gender and Public Policy Program at the Dubai School of Government. Over the course of her career to date, she has held positions including Assistant Director, Senior Political Science and Public Administration Researcher, Academic Researcher and Translator. While at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), she coordinated the preparation and launch of a number of major reports, including the African Gender Development Index, which was launched in Addis Ababa in 2004. She also worked as Research Assistant in the Millennium Development Goals project in 2004 and wrote parts of the Arab Woman Progress Report 2004. She has prepared program training manuals on team building skills and management, and has experience in gender-sensitive budgets and media relations. Her research interests have focused on gender issues, political participation, international relations, public administration and development.
Ms. Mohamed has a master’s degree in International Human Rights Law from the American University in Cairo, and graduated among the first cohort of DSG’s Master of Public Administration program in 2009.
